The American Chamber of Commerce has responded to the property tax by claiming that the draft law has significant flaws in its conception and writing.

The American Chamber of Commerce expresses concern in a letter to Minister of Finance and Economy Delina Ibrahimaj that the proposed changes will quadruple the property tax rate, burdening citizens.

Some of the requests that members suggest should be included in this draft law include reviewing the assessment methodology, starting from reference prices, and establishing a single tax rate for property tax.

The American Chamber of Commerce maintains that determining the assessment methodology should be based on the law and should not be left to the discretion of the government, as this would be a violation of the Constitution.
