The urgent passage of the statute for the Academy of Sciences, according to Sali Berisha, is another recent evidence of the status of parliamentary democracy.

According to him, the Parliament’s majority does not respect laws or regulations, and he draws parallels between the events in Borizana, Fush-Kruje, in which relatives of former MP Rrahman Rraja were involved, and the one-sided approval of the law that allows Sknder Gjinushi to remain at the helm of the Academy of Sciences.

“What is going on at the Academy of Sciences is exactly the same as what happened at the Borizana establishment.” The mafia planted mines in its own garden and village[…]. “Here, the collared mafia has attacked the Academy of Sciences,” Berisha explained.

Berisha discussed a new phenomenon in the cultivation of narcotic drugs that, according to him, is replacing even cannabis at the meeting with supporting deputies: “Cannabis covers the area, but now opium, poppies, have started to cover the area.” Because they are significantly more expensive than cannabis, I guarantee they will replace all other goods. You’ve witnessed police operations, deceptions, and not a single arrest. They are not imprisoned because they are socialists; they are all members of the same political party.”

Berisha also remarked on the European Union’s decision to suspend agricultural funds at his meeting with Democratic Party deputies: “Today it was announced that the European Commission has suspended funds for Albanian agriculture due to corruption.” Because kleptocrats have stolen and misappropriated EU monies critical to Albanian agriculture. However, Albanian government agencies misuse and embezzle these monies.”

While discussing the incinerator issue, he reiterated his charges against Prime Minister Edi Rama as the affair’s leader, stating that he has also agreed with Arben Ahmetaj’s misconduct and will not speak about him.
