Osmani receives US ambassador, reiterates necessity for release of three Kosovo police officers

President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, held a meeting with the United States Ambassador, Jeffrey Hovenier, to discuss the situation in the northern region of Kosovo and emphasize the significance of de-escalation.

During the meeting, Osmani urged the American ambassador to exert pressure on Serbian authorities to promptly release the three policemen who had been abducted by Serbian special forces.

“The importance of immediately and unconditionally releasing the Kosovo policemen, who were kidnapped by Serbia within Kosovo’s territory, was reiterated by President Osmani. She also expressed gratitude for the unequivocal stance of the USA regarding the release of the policemen,” stated the announcement.

Furthermore, the discussions between President Osmani and Ambassador Hovenier encompassed the forthcoming actions to address the escalating situation and the necessity of coordination with Western partners.
