“Non-accountability and favoritism persist in the Albanian justice system.”

On Friday afternoon, the United States of America’s Ambassador, Yuri Kim, presented a message to the Albanian court system.

Kim is dissatisfied with the Albanian legal system’s lack of accountability and bias toward specific individuals.

In a tweet on Friday afternoon, the American diplomat stated that “such outdated practices” are not fit for a NATO member country and a candidate for EU membership.

While noting that the US views corruption to be a major threat to national security, Kim adds that those who “aid powerful friends must understand that their actions will have consequences.”
