Around 20 workers at the Fier incinerator went on strike this morning, blocking the entrance of lorries transporting urban waste from the Fier District’s six towns.
The workers claim they have not been paid in 5 months and have been denied social security benefits for several months. They voice their outrage, claiming that they have not been paid since January and that negotiations with the incinerator’s state administrator, Faraudin Arapi, have been fruitless.
