Three more vehicles with RKS license plates were set on fire early Friday morning in northern Kosovo. According to the Kosovo Police, one car was set on fire in Zvečan and two others in North Mitrovica.

The vehicles belonged to Serbian residents. On Thursday, March 30, two cars were also burned in Zubin Potok.

Similar incidents were reported in the north at the end of last year, when tensions erupted over the decision by the government of Kosovo to re-register all illegally Serbian-plated cars with Kosovo plates.

However, on the basis of an agreement brokered by the EU, Kosovo refrained from punitive measures if vehicles were not re-registered, while Serbia said it would not issue new plates for vehicles in Kosovo.
