Germany anticipates an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia at the Ohrid conference on Saturday. The German Embassy in Belgrade verified this to Radio Free Europe.

“Unresolved issues between Kosovo and Serbia continue to constitute a barrier. The upcoming high-level conference in Ohrid is an essential step toward overcoming this impediment and moving further on the European route “According to a statement issued by the German embassy.

The US will also intervene to provide a final push for both parties to adopt the suggested strategy for normalizing Kosovo-Serbia relations.

Gabriel Escobar, the US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, is scheduled to visit Pristina and Belgrade this week. It is unknown whether a US State Department official will attend the Kurti-Vucic meeting in Ohrid.
