Josep Borrell, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi will be in Tirana on March 15 and 16 for the EU-Albania Stabilization and Association Council meeting.

Together with Albania, Union officials will visit North Macedonia on March 16 and 17.
According to sources, the visits will provide an opportunity to address bilateral relations between the EU and Albania, as well as the EU and North Macedonia, under their respective Stabilization and Association Agreements, as well as recent developments in both countries and the Western Balkans.
Beginning with Albania on March 15, High Representative Borrell will meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama before chairing the 12th EU-Albania Stabilization and Association Council on March 16 in Tirana.
Prime Minister Edi Rama will represent Albania, while Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Várhelyi will represent the European Commission. Following the Council, High Representative Borrell, Prime Minister Rama, and Commissioner Várhelyi will conduct a press conference together about 12:00 p.m.
Borrell will attend the inauguration of the Venetian Tower in Durrs, whose repair was funded by the EU, in the afternoon.
After that, High Representative Borrell will proceed to North Macedonia. He will meet with Prime Minister Dimitar Kovaevski on March 16 before leading the EU mission to the 16th EU-North Macedonia Stabilization and Association Council on March 17.
