The European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Internal Affairs has voted in favor of visa liberalization for Kosovo.
The Committee members voted “in support” of free movement for Kosovo people.
With 48 votes in favor, 7 against, and 3 abstentions, the tripartite agreement on visa liberalization for Kosovo was passed.
The agreement’s ratification in this EP committee demonstrates that the formalization of the European Union’s decision on visa liberalization for Kosovo is proceeding according to plan and appropriate procedures, according to REL.
Thijs Reuten, a socialist deputy from the Netherlands, has been nominated as the European Parliament’s rapporteur on the visa liberalization for Kosovo. Reuten has indicated multiple times that the European Parliament will work as quickly as possible on this procedure, which has already gone much too long.
