Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that Iran was responsible for the cyberattack on Albanian institutions.

“The attack did not achieve its objective. The damage is judged to be modest. There is no irretrievable loss.  The attack was a state-sponsored effort, not a private one. Iran was responsible for orchestrating the aggression, declared Rama.

In light of this, Rama says that he has chosen to immediately terminate diplomatic ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran. “This decision was communicated by formal note to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has been requested to remove all diplomatic and technical-administrative staff, including security personnel, from the territory of the Republic of Albania within 24 hours.”
