In an exclusive interview with A2 CNN, Talat Xhaferi, Speaker of the Assembly of Northern Macedonia, discussed his experience in Ukraine as the first Albanian politician to visit Kyiv since the Russian occupation began on February 24.
“I highlighted that we are in the midst of a new conflict in the Western Balkans, with Kosovo Albanians, Bosniaks, and others. Politically, it should be stated unequivocally that Northern Macedonia adheres to Western definitions. As Speaker of the Parliament, I had to convey my personal support for Ukraine’s institutions,” Xhaferi explained.
“There was terror there, and it was nothing short of a war crime and a genocidal attempt. These issues necessitate a specific international and research procedure,” Xhaferi stated.
