
Ogerta Manastirliu, Minister of Health and Social Protection, has announced another contract with Pfizer for 1 million vaccines. She presented a modification to the agreement between the Pfizer corporation and the government in her statement to the Parliament, emphasizing that this deal assures the continuation of the immunization procedure for the entire population, including pediatric doses. Manastirliu emphasized that the purchase of 1 million doses of Pfizer vaccine is planned for 2022.
“The agreement that we passed today for approval in the Albanian Parliament makes available to us another 1 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, which will arrive according to a calendar, beginning in May and ending in December of this year, setting all of the timelines and longevity of the vaccine, so that we have every opportunity to use them in a timely manner, according to our vaccination response plan in our country. Providing continuing vaccinations is a step toward ensuring that we may continue to live in the normalcy that we all enjoy. So we haven’t wasted any time.
