According to Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, families who consume more than 700kw/h per month would pay more for electricity because they consume more than others and hence have more financial resources.
“There will be no increase in energy for small businesses or families. A small percentage of families spend more than 700 kilowatt/h. In terms of progressivity, families that consume beyond 700 kilowatt/h will be viewed differently. The price does not alter families paying less than $700. Because those households who spend more have more financial resources. We’re talking about a larger-than-usual capacity,” Ahmetaj stated.
