Albanian Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi declared that the government decided to award citizenship to foreigners who have made significant contributions in a variety of professions.
According to Çuçi, Albania can use this decision to recruit new record holders in sports.
“The government has decided to grant Albanian citizenship on foreign nationals who have made significant contributions to education, science, and sports. This decision supplements a provision in the new citizenship law that establishes this privilege and specifies the procedures and timelines for granting Albanian citizenship to these contributors as soon as possible. With this decision, we make it possible to reintroduce it as a tool for absorbing new record holders,” Çuçi said.
