The Institute of Food and Veterinary Safety issued a report of the situation after discovering the first case of avian influenza.
Tana Kika, the head of the National Authority of Veterinary and Plant Protection, stated that the number of birds killed by the flu has reached 65 thousand, with the total rising to over 300 thousand when those afflicted with the larynx-tract are included.
According to Ermira Gjeçi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the current issue is related to the disposal of deceased chickens, as a location for the procedure has not yet been selected.
