Olta Xhaçka, the Albanian Foreign Minister, has urged the European Union to be more strategic in its dealings with the Western Balkans.
Xhaçka noted during a meeting with the diplomatic corps in Tirana that the situation in Ukraine demonstrated that the cost of isolation may be greater than the cost of integration.
“We have long urged our EU allies to be more strategic in their engagement with the Western Balkans. Ukraine’s developments demonstrate that our concerns were not unfounded. This shows that the cost of isolation is many much greater than the cost of integration. I hope that after the effects of the occupation of Ukraine, our ties will improve,” Olta Xhaçka declared.
