The increase in pricing earlier this year has reintroduced pessimism among consumers and businesses. According to the latest data from the Bank of Albania, the Economic Confidence Index fell in January.
Industry, which is confronted with rising prices in raw materials, energy, and fuel, led the decline followed by prices for services.
On the other hand, construction optimism, like trade, has returned to an upward trend. Commercial enterprises are pleased with their current performance but are concerned about the impact of continuing price increases on consumption. Citizens, on the other hand, fear additional price increases and are hesitant to make significant purchases.
