
President Ilir Meta announced today the opening of applications for a full 9-year term as a member of the Constitutional Court. The retirement of Judge Prparim Kalo, whose tenure as a member of the Court ends in April, will create this vacancy.
“Judges of the Constitutional Court must have a higher legal education, at least 15 years of work experience as judges, prosecutors, lawyers, professors or lecturers of law, senior officials in public administration, with a prominent activity in the field of constitutional law,” according to the announcement.
Following the completion of the applications, the presidency will publish the names of the candidates online on February 4th, while sending their files to the Judicial Appointments Commission for evaluation.
