The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, reacted to the increased number of deaths and daily new cases. A few hours after the Technical Committee of Experts introduced new measures, the President said that this moment is very serious and cannot be controlled with curfews, but with scientific measures.
“We need more vaccinations, more consolidated health protocols that are recognized in the international arena. More testing, tracking, isolation and proper treatment are the vital steps in this situation”, meta declared on his account.
“Wearing masks, social distancing and maximal hygiene are also necessary. I appeal to the government to increase the funds for the health system in order to improve the service offered to citizens, so that our doctors and nurses are not left once again without protective measures and diagnostic tools”, Meta declared.
