The manufacturing business, one of the most affected by the pandemic, showed positive signs in the first months of the year, although in lower levels than before COVID-19.

The Institution of statistics reported that the exports of textiles and shoes increased by 6.3% compared to the same period of one year ago.

Representatives from the manufacturing sector admit that COVID-19 has created new markets for exports, opportunities that are not being taken advantage of due to their lack of capacity.

The 50 million EUR government package offered to tour operators and manufacturers, which is expected to pass with the new Parliamentary session in September, is seen as an opportunity to revitalize the business in order to reach the pre-crisis levels.
