The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, an ethnic Albanian, met with the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, and President Ilir Meta, during his trip to Albania.
“I am proud to be the first official of the new government that is attending an official visit in Tirana. It was a pleasure to meet every political subject that is related to what should be the change of Albania. The opposition leader welcomed me today at the Democratic Party HQ. We discussed concrete matters and challenges that we had in Montenegro before the change, challenges that are somewhat similar to yours. We need to adapt more to the European norms. We must be certain that we can realize what we promote. We shouldn’t put ourselves at a disadvantage by promoting universal values in one side, and Balkan ones in the other.”
Abazovic declared that this is the right time for some new European spirit in the entire region, and that we should start inserting the political ethics.
“It is very difficult, since the institutions are not very functional. However, our duty as citizens, colleagues, politicians, as people who see a future in our countries. Is to introduce a little more ethics into the political life.
