After the Appeals and Complaints Commission (KAS) rejected their request to invalidate the elections in Gjirokastra and Vlora, the Socialist Movement for Integration has challenged the decision to the Electoral College. The Democratic Party has also declared to appeal the decision, while the request was also made by the independent candidate, Kreshnik Merxhani.
The representative of the SMI at the Central Election Commission, Altin Kaziaj, warned that they will take the case up to the Constitutional Court.
“The decision was taken without any standard. We understand that the decision was taken under political orders. I hope that this structure (Electoral College) will bring back legality”, he said.
