The former Head of the Central Election Commission, Denar Biba, declared that for a poor country like Albania electoral spending is excessive.

Acording to Biba, parties cannot attract attention with their programs, so they have to make show-like activities.

“Democracy is costing each day more, not only in Albania, but all over the world. They pay for offices, activities, rallies, various funding of electoral meetings, fuel, etc.

“They cost even more in countries where political programs are not what attract the citizens’ vote and attention. With such activities, campaigns become more similar to the USA. Such spending is excessive for a poor country like Albania. There is a imbalance between the anemic programs and vital campaigns”, declared Denar Biba , former CEC Chairman, on A2 Business.
