The 100,000 Sinovac vaccines that arrived at the Tirana International Airport a few days ago will be used for citizens over 60 and chronic patients.

The reduced age-limit has created queues at Tirana’s main square for the vaccination procedure.

Citizens do not hesitate, despite the debates raised recently about the efficiency of the Chinese vaccine.

“Germany also is taking it. It means that it is useful”, one of the citizens said.

Others would prefer other vaccines: “I’d prefer another brand. Since they are not coming, I will take the Chinese one”, says one of the citizens.

Patients that are being treated with chemotherapy and blood transfusion will use the Pfizer vaccines, since the Chinese and Russian ones could cause more severe side effects.
