Albania and the USA commemorate the 30th reestablishment of the diplomatic ties. The US Embassy to Tirana declared on Twitter that this is an important date for all countries. They asked ambassadors to send a message to the people of Albania.
Today we mark the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of U.S.-Albania diplomatic ties. We celebrate the strategic choice of the Albanian people to embrace democracy and the strong partnership we have built. We look forward to what we can achieve together going forward”, said the Spokesperson of the US State Department.
The Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Gramoz Ruci, sent a letter to Speaker of the US Congress, Nancy Pelosi, in which he underlined that the friendship with the USA has made Albania a bigger country.
“The alliance, partnership, friendship and loyalty to the USA has not only protected us, but increased our development pace and Albania’s contribution in international relations.
We have felt this support even in the past 30 years, when Albania joined the third wave of the global democratic developments, turning it from an ideal to reality, under the leadership of the USA”, Ruci declared.
