The President of Albania returned the law for the concession of the Rinas Airport, which moved to another company recently, under a new and extended contract.
The Parliament of Albania rejected the decree with 84 votes, which brings the law back in effect.
The new law provides that the concession for Albania’s main airport, which is the only international airport and the only operational in Albania, will be extended for 35 years. This way, the concession agreement would end in 2038.
President Meta opposed the new concession agreement, arguing that there are several constitutional violations.
