The vaccination for people over 80 and the health personnel has now started in Durres, led by 10 medical teams.
The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, accompanied by Health Minister Manastirliu, visited the site as the first 150 persons were registered for receiving the vaccine.
The Health Minister declared that the vaccination started with people over 80, who are registered by their family doctors.
“Family doctors will decide who can be vaccinated first, based on their age. We are doing a great job throughout the country. More than 14,000 people have received vaccines so far”, Manastirliu declared.
The Minister added that all nurses and doctors will be vaccinated within March 15th, while teachers will start receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine in every school.
“We are selecting the nurses that will carry out the vaccinations in schools and they are about to attend a training procedure within this week”, Manastirliu declared.
